Class Registration v3.0 - River Falls
Dynamic Details in Creative Writing (ended)
#: 1465   ID:    Section:
Description:

Anything you observe, sense, or remember can start you off on a poem, creative prose, autobiography, or even give an edge to your tweets or texts. This class is meant for anyone just getting started in creative writing, and as a refresher for others. Look at it as a tool kit for any kind of creative writing that interests you. Class will cover journaling, character creation through detail and action, basics of the story arc, autobiography, creative nonfiction, and poetry--both free form and rhymed. The strategy of the course is to work from a few well-chosen details to more filled-out projects. Each class will have a primary focus on a given technique, in-class practice, and out-of-class work. This class is also meant to be the foundation for subsequent writing classes that expand upon the basics developed here. Before retiring, Ron Neuhaus taught creative writing at all levels at UWRF for over 40 years.
