This course is designed for participants with some experience in the language (Spanish III or similar). You will start with a review of Spanish III followed by more sophisticated dialogs and verbal tenses. Spanish IV will emphasize the three most common tenses in a language: simple present, past, and future, with the addition of more complex grammar structures. Particular attention will be given to the practice of free conversation between participant-teacher and participant-participant. From day one participants are exposed to the four skills in a foreign language: reading, listening, speaking, and writing. Required text: "Spanish for Mastery 1: ¿Qué Tal?" by Valette-Valette, available on amazon.com or textbooks.com.
