Join fellow citizen scientists in exploring and sampling the Kinnickinnic River this summer. Enjoy learning a new characteristic or feature of the river each month. Share the discoveries as we collect key condition monitoring data, identify invasive and native plants and animals, and work together to keep the river clean and cold for our community.
We’ll use a variety of data collection tools and phone-based apps. Skills learned can be used all year round to build our understanding of how the river is responding to different seasons and weather conditions. We’ll explore the STREAM: Science, Technology, Recreation, Engineering, Art, and Math of river biology and the environment, in and around the Kinni and downtown River Falls.
This series is part of the 2022 Summer River Monitoring Program, sponsored by Kinni Corridor Collaborative in partnership with UW-RF Ecological Restoration Institute (ERI), Trout Unlimited (Kiap-TU-Wish Chapter), The Prairie Enthusiasts, River Falls Municipal Utilities, WisCorp, and WI Department of Natural Resources.
