In this course, students will learn the basic essentials of music and the guitar. Topics will range from music theory to learning basic chords and strumming patterns. Students will learn basic picking and strumming techniques and a few basic chords, followed by basic music theory and learning how to read basic music notation.
Dan Shedore began his musical journey at age 4, he started taking guitar lessons by age 8 and earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Guitar Performance from McNally Smith College of Music in 2013. With a diverse background spanning jazz, blues, and rock, he's played in numerous bands through the Midwest and taught private lessons over a decade from youth to adults. Dan prioritizes tailoring lessons to individual needs and ensuring thorough understanding. In the past two years Dan started teaching group guitar courses at the local schools in his community. "Growing up with a vision impairment made learning music a challenge, but I was determined to succeed," says Dan. "I see music as a healing tool, which is why I have a passion for teaching others."
