At Hoċokata Ṫi, a cultural center located in Shakopee, MN, take a guided tour of the 3,805-square-foot exhibit Mdewakanton: Dwellers of the Spirit Lake. Discover Dakota history through artifacts such as arrowheads, tools, traditional clothing, and a dugout canoe. Engage with interactive audio-visual displays depicting the tribe’s journey from pre-European contact to treaties and self-sufficiency.

Eat lunch on the grounds, then it’s off to The Landing, a living history museum nestled along the scenic Minnesota River Valley. Explore life in the 1800s through self-guided tours, wandering through Eagle Creek’s recreated frontier village with costumed interpreters, interactive exhibits, historic homes, a church, a town hall, and a railroad depot.
